Welcome, Elyse!! :) Well, I could write a book, probably, but I’m gonna assume you understand the basics, which is to keep your NET carbs (which is carbs minus fiber) below a certain number. Different books have a different number. Atkins, I believe, uses 20 for ‘induction’, Protein Power, which is the one I first read and followed, uses 30. The lower you keep that number, the more benefits I think you’ll have, at least at first. When you get to ‘maintenance’ then you can increase your net carbs, but I would still suggest keeping refined foods out of your diet as much as possible.
